CATL, Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Limited, plans to invest in the power and energy storage battery projects in Zhaoqing, with a total investment of 29 billion RMB ($4,5 billion), Iccsino.com reports. The projects are as follows:
1. According to CATL’s strategic development plan, in order to further expand its production capacity, it plans to invest in the construction of a power and energy storage battery production base in Zhaoqing City, Guangdong Province. The total project investment will not exceed 12 billion RMB ($1,9 billion), read news.
2. According to CATL’s strategic development plan, in order to further expand its production capacity, CATL plans to invest in the construction of the fifth and sixth phases of the power battery manufacturing base in the Lingang Economic and Technological Development Zone of Yibin City, Sichuan Province, with a total investment of no more than 12 billion RMB ($1,9 billion).
3. According to CATL’s strategic development plan, in order to further expand its production capacity, meet customer needs, promote business development, and consolidate its market position, CATL’s holding subsidiary, Times FAW, plans to invest in the construction of Times FAW power battery production line expansion in Xiapu County, Ningde City, Fujian Province. The total project investment will not exceed 5 billion RMB ($774 million).
