India: Exicom and ChargeZone sign charging infrastructure deal

EV charging station manufacturer Exicom and Charge Zone want to expand India’s EV charging network. Together, they want to develop and deploy more than 500 fast-chargers nationwide.

In line with the deal, ChargeZone will use Exicom’s chargers at its upcoming charging hubs and public charging locations. “Leveraging its design-led manufacturing capability and homegrown software stack for remote management of EV chargers, Exicom will develop solutions that boost the reliability of high-power charging, helping ChargeZone minimize range anxiety for its customers,” the press release states.

It is not clear when or where the first chargers from the deal will be installed.

“Our intent is to meaningfully contribute to India’s growing emphasis on sustainable EV charging solutions,” said Exicom CEO Anshuman Divyanshu. “This collaboration with ChargeZone will help us launch reliable and high-power charging solutions including advanced battery and renewables integrated solutions that will contribute to establishing a greener mobility for tomorrow.”

ChargeZone CEO Kartikey Haryani added: “The partnership will enable us to scale sustainable EV charging infrastructure across India. We believe that accessibility, community empowerment, and sustainable practices are critical enablers of driving EV adoption in India, and we hope to contribute to this paradigm shift towards sustainability with Exicom’s advanced solutions and our extensive network.”

Exicom took over the ailing EV charger manufacturer Tritium last year. In an interview with electrive, Divyanshu pointed out that the company is also looking to expand to “Europe and North America through Tritium’s established footprint and expertise.”
