Stellantis to invest 100mn for cheaper e500 battery

Stellantis will invest 100 million euro to make a cheaper battery for its e500 electric car, CEO Carlos Tavares said Wednesday.

“We will put 100 million euro into making the batteries, and the car, more affordable for Italians,” he said after talks with trade unions in Turin.

Tavares also lamented the fact that incentives for e-car production have yet to arrive from the government.”We’re still waiting for incentives, after so many promises were made,” he said.
